PMA News: 2024 Graduation Highlight

As Mark walked across the stage, receiving his diploma, he reflected on the friendships forged, challenges overcome, and lessons learned along the way during his experience at Phoenix Magnet Academy.

Mark started at Phoenix Magnet Academy (PMA) in 2022 during his grade 11 year.

“In terms of my courses, all the teachers at PMA have provided me with plenty of support and trust through grades 11 & 12. They are all patient and knowledgeable in their own fields. The content of the courses is highly comprehensive and attractive. In addition, Mr. Taylor helps me a lot. He always answers my questions in detail to solve any problems I may have.”

Mark’s university preparation started in the first semester of this year. His support from his teachers via the Individual Growth Plan (IGP) was essential to his future success.

Mark’s dreams came true when he received a letter of acceptance from University of Toronto, one of Canada’s top ranked universities. He was admitted into the Faculty of Arts and Science as a member of their Mathematical and Physical Sciences program. Once he receives these credentials, he can pursue a variety of areas including engineering, scientific research, computer sciences, accounting, finance, and business management.

Mark’s journey is the kind of story that PMA has always wanted to share with the world: it is a story of a kind, dedicated young man who works hard to pursue challenging goals with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. He embodies our school’s core principle of “invictus semper ortu,” and we look forward to hearing of his many future accomplishments.

"Phoenix Magnet Academy is an awesome private school. Teachers here are patient and experienced. They are able to help students solve problems in both studying and life. All of the teachers are very creative as well, so we have lots of fun as we learn, both inside and outside the classroom. What’s more, PMA is a boarding school. We have a nice, peaceful environment for students to live in. There are many supports and activities in the dorm to keep students’ life safe and lively. Additionally, PMA is an international school, drawing students from all other the world, so we learn a lot about other regions and countries’ culture, which broadens our horizons.” -Mark, PMA Graduate
